Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): 10 monarchs by their spouses [“The ‘Tenable’ Tower will show the names of 10 people who have married a king or queen of England or Britain; we’re looking for the regnal names and regnal numbers of the king or queen to whom they were married.”]
The clues: Matilda of Flanders / Eleanor of Aquitaine / Catherine of Aragon / Philip II of Spain / Catherine of Braganza / Caroline of Brunswick / Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha / Alexandra of Denmark / Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon / Philip, Prince of Greece and Denmark
Final Round: Prime Ministers: The last 10 prime ministers in power at the beginning of a decade [the last 10 different people who were UK prime minister at the start of a year ending in zero; if someone became prime minister during a year ending in zero this will not count.]
How the team fared
Monday 8 March 2021, S5Ep16, Born Ruislippy
4 members of Born Ruislippy made it to the final round playing for 6k and named 9 of the last 10 prime ministers in power at the beginning of a decade. Shame, really close to a jackpot win; the 10th answer came down to a tough choice between two but he went for the wrong PM for 1930 (Stanley Baldwin). The remaining answer: Ramsay MacDonald.
