Here are the questions and answers for the current series of ITV quiz show “Tenable”, episodes broadcast between Monday 13 and Friday 17 January 2020, Series 4 Episodes 36-40 (S4Ep36, S4Ep37 and so on).

Round 3: The 10 bird emojis [According to the list published by the standardization organization Unicode as of 13 March 2019; when a species is represented more than once, for example by a male, female or a young bird that have different names, any of the terms will be accepted as an overall correct answer.]

Round 4: Top 10 actors in ‘Gavin & Stacey’ [The 10 actors who appear in the most episodes of the TV sitcom according to IMDb as of 13 May 2019 and includes appearances in episodes marked by IMDb as uncredited.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round):  Top 10 non-geographic terms in 2019 rugby Super League names [There are 12 teams in the 2019 rugby Super League; the names of 10 contain a term that is non-geographic.]

Final Round: Counties: The first 10 one-word English ceremonial counties that end with the letters ‘SHIRE’ [In an alphabetical list of English ceremonial counties, the first 10 consisting of one word and ending in ‘SHIRE’.]

Round 1: The first 10 words of exactly four letters in the theme from ‘Friends’ [The theme song is “I’ll be there for you” by The Rembrandts; this list does not include contracted words that contain apostrophes, so “job’s” is not an acceptable answer.]

Round 2: The 10 post-World War II prime ministers whose surname contains the letter ‘A’ [The 10 UK prime ministers from the end of the Second World War to the end of May 2019 whose usual surnames contain the letter ‘A’; this only relates to the names they were known by when they were prime minister.]

Round 3: The 10 states and end cities of Route 66 [The 8 states that the original Route 66 passed through and the 2 cities in which the eastern and western terminals of the highway were originally located; this is as the highway was commissioned and established in 1926.]

Round 4: The first 10 ‘Hunger Games’ characters alphabetically [As they feature on the SparkNotes character list for the first two books of the trilogy, i.e.  the books “Hunger Games” and “Catching Fire”.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The 10 2018/19 Premier League teams with the most clean sheets [According to the official Premier League website as of May 2019.]

Final Round: European Union: The last 10 EU member countries alphabetically [As of June 2019.]

Round 1: The 10 whisky or tequila cocktails [The 10 cocktails that contain whisky or tequila as an ingredient, according to the International Bartenders Association list of official cocktails on the IBA website as of 17 May 2019; this only covers drinks listed in the IBA categories “The Unforgettables” and “Contemporary Classics”, so does not include cocktails in the “New Era Drinks” category.]

Round 2: The last 10 tennis players to win their home Grand Slam [Winners of Men’s or Women’s Grand Slam events (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon or US Open) held in their home country; “home country” means the country the player had as their nation at the time they won the event, and is not necessarily the country they were born in.]

Round 3: The 10 one-word British army ranks [The 10 ranks in the British Army and the youth organization that it and the Ministry of Defence sponsor that consists of one word; as of May 2019.]

Round 4: the 10 films that won Oscars at the 2019 ceremony [The 10 live action feature films that won any Oscar at the Academy Awards ceremony held on 24 February 2019.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): Top 10 names given to boys that are also first names of US presidents [These are the names of babies born in the US between 1918 and 2017 and the names most commonly used by US presidents when they were in office.]

Final Round: UK Cities: The 10 English cities between Lichfield and Preston alphabetically [London is not an acceptable answer as “City of London” has official city status, not the larger conurbation known as London.]

Round 1: The 10 countries with names that end with  the letters ‘LAND’ or ‘LANDS’ [Does not include Swaziland as it has changed its name to Eswatini; as ever, “by country we mean a sovereign state that is a member of the United Nations in its own right”.]

Round 2: The 10 David Bowie UK Top 10 singles of the 1980s [According to the Official Charts Company; collaborations are included, as long as David Bowie is a main credited artist.]

Round 3: The 10 ingredients in Nigel Slater’s recipe for Thai green curry paste [As listed on the BBC website; the recipe originally featured in a 2006 episode of his series “A Taste of My Life”.]

Round 4: Top 10 characters in the film ‘The Little Mermaid’ [The characters played by the Top 10 credited voice actors in the 1989 animated film “The Little Mermaid”; one of the actors is credited with two roles; either role will be an acceptable answer.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The 10 “must-see” Italian artists at the National Gallery [The National Gallery website has a list of the 30 “must-see” paintings in its collection, as of 23 April 2019; 10 of the artists in this list were born in a place that is now part of Italy.]

Round 2: Top 10 tea-producing countries of Asia in 2017 [Measured in tonnage and according to the website of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations as of April 2019.]

Round 3: Top 10 characters and actors in ‘Frozen’ [The first 5 characters to appear in the credits for the 2013 Disney film, and the 5 voice actors who played them; according to IMDb as of April 2019.]

Round 4: The 10 British native trees you should plant in your garden [On the website of the Eden Project, under “Learn for Everyone”, is a page that suggests the 10 native British trees to grow in your garden; “native” means that these trees are at home in Britain, as they have grown here for thousands of years; as of 1 June 2019.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The last 10 Champions League finalists [As of the final of the 2019/20 season, played on 1 June 2019.]

Final Round: US States: The first 10 US states with a consonant as their second letter [In an alphabetical list of the US states, give the first 10 that have a consonant as their second letter.]

Tuesday 14 January 2020, The Study Buddies

4 of the Study Buddies made it to the final playing for 27k and named 8 of the last 10 EU member countries alphabetically. [The remaining answers: Netherlands, United Kingdom.]

Wednesday 15 January 2020, The Legion of Quiz

All 5 members of The Legion of Quiz made it to the final and won 11k by naming the 10 English cities between Lichfield and Preston alphabetically.

Thursday 16 January 2020,

4 of Mother Knows Best made it to the final round playing for 15k and named 0 of the Top 10 EFL Championship football teams of the 2018/19 season.
