“Tenable” questions, week ending 22 November 2019 (Series 4, Episodes 26-30)

Here are the questions and answers for the current series of ITV quiz show “Tenable”, episodes broadcast between Monday 18 and Friday 22 November 2019, Series 4 Episodes 26-30 (S4Ep26, S4Ep27 and so on).

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round):  The last 10 Steven Spielberg films with one- or two-word titles [Films for which Steven Spielberg has a directing credit, according to IMDb as of May 2019; does not include short films, documentaries, TV movies or TV series; “The BFG”, “AI” and “Amazing Stories” are not “Tenable” answers”.]

Final Round: Science Fiction: The first 10 words of four or more letters in the ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ novel titles [This includes the titles of the original novels written by Douglas Adams and the sixth novel in the series, written by Eoin Colfer; does not include the words “Hitchhiker’s”, “Guide” or “Galaxy”.]

Round 2: Top 10 ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ characters [The 10 characters with the most appearances in the sitcom “Mrs Brown’s Boys”; credited acting performances according to IMDb as of 12 June 2019.]

Round 3: The first 10 double digit motorways in England [From a list of motorways in England, in ascending numerical order, looking for the first 10 that have a two-digit number; these are roads beginning with an M; motorways where the M is in brackets after the number do not count; as of June 2019.)

Round 4: The 10 James Bond films between ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ and ‘GoldenEye; [The 10 James Bond films made by EON Productions, released between “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” in 1969 and “GoldenEye” in 1995.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The last 10 Britons to win the Formula 1 British Grand Prix [The race currently takes place at Silverstone each year; “Britons” are those drivers listed under the heading “British drivers” in the official media kit for the 2018 British Grand Prix.]

Final Round: Musical Instruments: The 10 woodwind and brass instruments played by the BBC Philharmonic [There are 10 types of woodwind and brass instruments that feature in a list of musical instruments on the BBC Philharmonic web page “About the Orchestra”; the word “type” means that if there is more than version of an instrument listed, with a prefix such as “bass”, “contra” or “second”, only the main name of the instrument will be on this list; as of May 2019.]

Round 1: Top 10 most-loved vegetables [The UK’s 10 favourite vegetables according to a 2018 poll commissioned by Dolmio Veggie goodness; technically not all 10 are vegetables but they are treated as vegetables when cooking.]

Round 2: The first 10 films featured in ‘The Keith and Paddy Picture Show’ [The first 10 films to be parodied in the TV show starring Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness, from the five main episodes of the first two series broadcast in 2017 and 2018, and not including any specials.]

Round 3: The 10 capital cities nearest Berlin

Round 4: the first 10 six-letter words ending in the letters ‘BLE’ [According to Chambers 21st Century Dictionary on Chambers.co.uk; each word has its own entry and is in blue on the website; does not include hyphenated words, words with apostrophes or any word that the dictionary spells with an initial capital letter; as of 15 June 2019.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The first 10 children’s novels by David Walliams [Does not include collections of short stories, so the three books called “The World’s Worst Children” are not included, and nor are picture books.]

Final Round: Premier League: The last 10 teams with a double letter in their name to compete in the Premier League [Up to an including the end of the 2018/19 season; “double letter” means two of the same letter consecutively in the same word; any word in the team name contain the double letter, except “football” and “association”, so FC and AFC in a club name are not relevant.]

Round 3: The 10 One Direction UK Top 10 singles with titles of three or fewer letters [According to the Official Charts Company, as of April 2019.]

Round 4: Top 10 Scottish Premiership football teams of the 2018/19 season

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The 10 charities with the most shops [These charities are all members of the Charity Retail Association; this is according to Charity Shops Survey 2018 conducted by Civil Society Media.]

Final Round: Game of Thrones: The first 10 houses in ‘Game of Thrones’ alphabetically [The Viewers’ Guide section on the official HBO “Game of Thrones” website lists the major factions, houses and families that appear in the series; this is a list of the 10 different names alphabetically that follow the word “House” on the list; as of May 2019.]

All 5 of Oche Oche Oche, Oi Oi Oi! made it to the final playing for 43.5k and named 6 of the 10 woodwind and brass instruments played by the BBC Philharmonic. [The remaining answers: Piccolo, Cor anglaise, Bassoon, Tuba.]

Wednesday 20 November 2019, The Dim Blue Line

4 members of The Dim Blue Line made it to the final and won 3.5k by naming the last 10 teams with a double letter in their name to compete in the Premier League.

Thursday 21 November 2019, The Monster Raving Uni Party
