Here’s my weekly summary of questions and answers from the latest series of ITV quiz show “Tenable”. These are for the shows broadcast week beginning Monday 4 March 2019 (Series 3, Episodes 56 onwards). The format is the same as in earlier pieces: a list of the 30 “Tenable” challenges per show, a note on how the teams fared, and then the answers.

This week I published my first draft earlier in the week than previous pieces, on Tuesday evening, and added the questions and answers for Wednesday through to Friday later.

Final Round: Prime Ministers: The 10 UK prime ministers since 1900 whose names contain the letter ‘C’ [These are the commonly known full names of UK prime ministers as they appear on the ‘Past Prime Ministers’ page of the 10 Downing Street website, as of June 2018.]

Round 1: The first 10 spaces on a London Monopoly board [The first 10 spaces after Go, heading clockwise, on a standard London Monopoly board.]

Round 2: The 10 highest-grossing films of 2017 [The 10 highest-grossing feature films that went on general release in the UK and Ireland during 2017; this is from data provided by the British Film Institute; where a film is part of a franchise the full title is needed.]

Round 3: The 10 westernmost capital cities of Europe [“Europe” is as defined by the CIA Factbook and includes island nations as well as mainland nations; three of the answers in this list are for island nations, and the first answer in this list is the westernmost capital city.]

Round 4: The 10 animals in the titles of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Just So’ Stories [10 of the 12 ‘Just So’ fables, first published in 1902, have animals in their titles.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): Top 10 cut flowers sold in the UK by Interflora in 2016 [List provided by Interflora, just types of flowers required here, not varieties; if the list were about fruits answers would be, for example, apple or pear rather than Granny Smith or Conference.]

Final Round: US Presidents: The last 10 surnames of US presidents that begin with a consonant [In a chronological list of US presidents, the last 10 different surnames, up to and including the person in office in June 2018.]

Round 1: The 10 biggest-selling Kylie Minogue songs in the UK [Compiled by the Official Charts Company to coincide with Kylie turning 50, and published on 25 May 2018; collaborations are included, as long as Kylie Minogue is a credited artist.]

Round 2: The 10 US states containing the letters ‘J’ or ‘K’

Round 3: The 10 words of six or more letters in the titles of the ‘Harry Potter’ books [This refers to the UK releases of the original 7 books in the series by JK Rowling and does not include hyphenated words; words including apostrophes will be accepted; because the word ‘Potter’ is in the question it will not be accepted as an answer.]

Round 4: The first 10 contestants on ‘Love Island’ 2018 [The first 10 people to arrive as contestants in the villa in the ITV2 series ‘Love Island’ in the initial episode first broadcast on 4 June 2018.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The 10 brands of iron at John Lewis [The 10 brands of steam iron on sale on the John Lewis website as of March 2018, not including the John Lewis own brand.]

Final Round: Tennis: The last 10 Americans and Australians to win the Wimbledon Men’s Singles title [Up to and including the 2017 Championships; the country the player is from is as stated the Wimbledon.com roll of honour.]

Round 1: The first 10 five-letter words that end with the letters ANK [As contained in the premium version of oxforddictionaries.com; does not include hyphenated words such as ‘e-bank’, words with apostrophes or any word that the dictionary only spells with an initial capital letter.]

Round 2: Top 10 2017/18 EFL Championship football teams

Round 3: The 10 Conservative MPs with most followers on Twitter [This covers MPs at Westminster; as of 17 June 2018, according to mpsontwitter.co.uk.]

Round 4: The first 10 Oscar-winning animated feature films [The first film to win this award was at the Oscars ceremony held in 2002.]

Round 5 (The Captain’s Round): The first 10 gases on the periodic table alphabetically [There are 11 elements that are gaseous at standard temperature and pressure; this is according to their state at 20 degrees C, as given on the Royal Society of Chemistry website; please give the first 10 elements alphabetically.]

Final Round: South American Geography: The 10 coastal countries in South America [The 10 mainland countries that have a coastline; does not include central American countries such as Panama.]

Final Round: European Countries: The 10 one-word EU countries containing the letters ‘G’ or ‘V’ [As of May 2018.]

Thursday 7 March 2019, The Frizbee Quizbees

All 5 members of The Frizbee Quizbees made it to the final and won 53.5k by naming the 10 coastal countries in South America.
